An elderly person was burnt to death in a fire at a house in Kirkkonummi while a young woman was killed in a road accident in Lapua during the weekend, police said in separate press releases.
The fire broke out on Sunday at about 10:30 a.m. in a detached house at Peltopolku area in Kirkkonummi, a municipality under Uusimaa region and engulfed the house immediately.
Responding to an alarm Rescue Service people and police rushed to the spot but the house was completely gutted by this time.
They recovered a body from the debris and police said the deceased could be the elderly person who lived in the house.
Police, however, did not divulge the detail identity of the victim and the origin of the fire.
They are investigating into the incident to find out more information but did not suspect any crime link to the incident.
Meanwhile, a young woman was killed in a road accident in Lapua, a municipality in South Ostrobothnia region on Saturday afternoon.
The accident took place at about 2:00 p.m. when a private car skidded off and turned turtle on Vasunmäentie road.
A young woman, who was driving the car died on the spot in the accident while another person who was onboard was slightly injured.
The reason behind the accident could not be known immediately.
Police, however, did not divulge the detail identities of the deceased and the injured person.
